HOW IT WORKS

Feel the Feels is a 12 week program that blends education, experiential learning, and coaching. 

All sessions are conducted over zoom. We meet weekly for 90 minutes beginning DATE. 

First 45-60 minutes are teaching on that week's topic. Last 45 min are open for hot seat coaching. 

All sessions are recorded, you do NOT have to attend live.

  • Week1: Agreements, Intro to Feelings, Visioning Ritual 
  • Week 2: Cost and Benefits of Defenses - What are defenses? 
  • Week 3: Anxiety - Using anxiety as a signal to validate core emotions, conflicts, and needs
  • Week 4: Integration Week
  • Week 5: Shame and Guilt - Differentiating between shame and guilt; soothing shame
  • Week 6: Core Emotions & Being with Sadness 
  • Week 7:  Core Anger - Anger has a purpose
  • Week 8: Integration Week
  • Week 9: Expansive Emotions - Joy, pride, gratitude, excitement
  • Week 10: Openhearted State/Working the Triangle
  • Week 11: Getting into the Body + Change Triangle Practice
  • Week 12: Refelct, integrate, celebration ritual

Using the Voxer app, you'll have text and voice message access to Julia Monday-Friday. This is a space to have questions answered, checkin with gentle accountability, and get any needed support in between sessions.

In our coaching sessions we move through three phases together. 

  1. EMBRACE - We begin by building a foundation that allows you to access your inner sense of safety and groundedness. We'll deepen into the power of who you already are exploring your innate values, strengths and tendencies. You'll leave with a toolbox to access feelings of safety, calm, and ease, individualized to your nervous system. 
  2. EXPERIENCE - You'll learn how it feels for you to safely access, sit with, and process through feelings and emotions. We'll find your unique ways of moving stuck energy and emotions, including 'negative' ones,  through your body. You'll grow your ability to release emotions that have felt like blocks, and to be present through future challenges as they arise. 

  3. EMBODY - We'll support your internal shifts with self-care, boundaries, and work and life policies that reflect your inner enoughness. We'll experiment with varying goals and real world strategies so that you're better able to bring your authentic self into your  relationships, work, and play. 

Our coaching centers on meeting YOU right where you're at. This means we may move through all 3 phases at once or spend several sessions/months in one. There isn't a 'right' way. Instead, we balance and oscillate between your current experiences, needs, and capacity, and where you want to go. 

It's my hope that when you walk away from our coaching you will:

  • Have an intimate understanding of your own needs and capacity. You'll learn to tune into and respond to your nervous system through state specific self-care allowing you to access more energy and calm amidst full days. 
  • Continue to hold yourself to a high standard and chase big goals, just tweaking the recipe - seasoning with more self-compassion and joy and going easy on the perfectionism and criticizing. 
  • Feel deeply connected to the core of yourself - who you are, what you think, and what you love. Aligning your words, actions, and habits with your values, desires, and innate strengths.  
  • Better understand the systems, tools, and practices that work for you allowing you to show up and achieve in a way that honors your needs and nervous system. 
  • Move through life's inevitable challenges and roadblocks confidently able to feel, experience, and move feelings through your body to access moments of peace and calm no matter the storm.

FAQ

Who exactly do you work with?

All kinds of high achievers. I've supported engineers, physicians, CEOs, lawyers, educators, entrepreneurs, students, corporate professionals, creatives and more.  I define high achievers as humans with an innate desire for a life well lived. 

What is somatics?

Past experiences, trauma and emotion live in our body's cellular memory. Chronic stress and trauma truncate us away from our selves.

Somatics is the exploration of how a person can come more wholly back to themselves and thrive as a relational being often through the mind, body connection. 

How is coaching different from therapy?

The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”

In coaching we trust the the client is the best expert of themselves (not the coach). We focus more on the present and the future asking questions like “how” and “what” more so than “why.” We ask questions to promote discovery and reflect a client's own knowledge back to them rather than diagnosing, pathologizing, or prescribing. 

Many of my clients have said that coaching feels like a natural transition when they're ready to begin taking action after processing in therapy. The two also complement each other very well!
